The three words that best describes my father most is compassionate, persistent & talent. My father had the God given virtue of seeing the possibility of life. He always saw possibilities for more abundant life. His visions were so clear that it drove him to action. And that’s clearly who my father was…A man of action! Only after his death have I come to understand what he meant by using the most of your strengths both physically and mentally to prosper. His love for sports, his athleticism, and competitive nature has taught his children to be strong, humble & strive to overcome obstacles not just in competition, but the daily struggles we all face when life surprises us most. When he saw the possibility of a greater life in relationship with another, he married my Mother, Rita. His vision was correct and resulted in a fruitful life-long relationship. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on March 30th 2007. Their unconditional love for each other has brought me 8 brothers and sisters. My Mom and his children were his most prized possessions. As I remember, he would show a family picture from his wallet to strangers at first introduction, and tell them how proud he was of all his children. And, would of course, boast on how beautiful my Mom is. When he looked at old photos of our family, he saw closeness. An unbreakable bond! The closeness that resembled the true meaning of the word family. That truly was the way Dad pictured it. It’s the way he measured his life…his family.
