► About Jim Rohn: Emanuel James Jim Rohn (September 17, 1930 – December 5, 2009) was an American businessman, author and motivational speaker. Jim Rohn's story of poverty to wealth played an important role in Jim Rohn's work, which influenced others in the personal development industry.
Emanuel James Jim Rohn was born in Yakima, Washington, to Emanuel and Clara Rohn. Jim Rohn owned and worked on a farm in Caldwell, Idaho, where Jim Rohn grew up as an only child.
Jim Rohn began the professional life of Jim Rohn working as a sales clerk at the Sears department store. Around this time, a friend invited Jim Rohn to a conference given by businessman John Earl Shoaff. In 1955, Jim Rohn joined Shoaff's direct sales business, AbundaVita, as a distributor.
In 1957, Jim Rohn resigned from Jim Rohn's distribution with AbundaVita and joined Nutri-Bio, another direct sales company. It was at this point that the founders of the company, including Shoaff, began to mentor Jim Rohn. After this tutoring, Jim Rohn created one of the company's largest organizations. In 1960, when Nutri-Bio expanded to Canada, Shoaff and the other founders selected Jim Rohn as vice president of the organization.
